We first went to this place on a nice weekend evening and it was not crowded. We got to meet the chef (Italian gentleman) and the manager/owner. The service was quite good and the food seemed quite authentic. We had a very good time that night and had decided to go back for Christmas Eve.

On Christmas Eve we returned and the experience was much unlike the first. Essentially we waited 40 min to receive our coffee and soup. The salad we ordered never arrived. We asked for the bill at about 1.5 hours into the wait because we were really hungry and wanted to find food before other places close. The waitress was kind but was very reluctant to release us. We were very polite with her, and we later heard they don't take you so seriously if you are polite and nice. Finally I spoke in a more stern tone of voice and begged to be let go saying that I'd be late for a party and starved if she doesn't give us our tab and let us go. The restaurant was very busy that night and so it was understandable that since the place seemed new they couldn't handle the load. Another customer at a table across from us actually yelled and screamed at a waitress, suffice to say he got here later than us and got his food before we did. We didn't like to resort to that tactic since, mood and atmosphere was also a key ingrediant in whether or not we enjoy our dining experience.
We asked the waitress for a discount due to the unreasonably long wait. She refused and we asked for the manager. She informed us that the manager was too busy and that was when I became a bit more stern and insisted on speaking to the manager.
We met the manager, who indeed was very busy, we informed him that our first experience here was wonderful but we were disappointed with this second experience. The manager politely apologized, gave us discount for a future visit (not sure what that discount is), and two stuffed animals.

The service is questionable, the food I would rate as good and the decor/ambiance is sort of western mixed with art deco.

I think I would return to this restaurant and give it another chance. It would be interesting to see if they honor the discount next we return.
