Thanks so many supportive people, the Military has conceded not to shoot and kill the dog. However, the last ounce of pride seems still to prevent them from releasing the dog to SPCA. Next week or soon, Sgt. Beberg will be leaving Iraq and if Ratchet is not able to leave by then, he will be left behind, to fend for himself in Iraq. Here is the update on Digg. Or you can go directly to the updated article. The article details the methods to help Ratchet as well as points to some online petitions. However, having signed the petitions myself, I can see that it can get confusing as there are two petitions.
So I'll list both of them here, hopefully making easier for supporters to just hop in and sign.
Petition 1: Release Ratchet from Iraq Now Petition 2: Clemency for Ratchet
Other ways to help, as mentioned in the updated article is to do the following:
1. Contact Minnesota Senators Quoted from GetFreshMinds.com: Here is the Contact information for the MN Senators and Gwen's Representative: Senator Amy Klobuchar (888) 224-9043 -or- (612) 727-5220 Senator Norm Coleman (800) 642-6041 -or- (651) 645-0323 Representative Keith Ellison (West Twin Cities, Minneapolis) (202) 225-4755 2. Donate to get Ratchet another plane ticket.
3. Digg and pass along their story.
Best Wishes to them and hope our support will help enough.
